The Twisted Beech, Tehidy Woods, oil and reclaimed woods, 54x86cm

A tree inhabits a well deserved spot in our landscape. A self sculpted survival story of twists, forks and scars. 'Gwedh - A story of Cornish Trees’ is an exhibition featuring a new series of paintings by local artist Theo Crutchely-Mack.

Inspired by his time living in Cornwall, over the past year Theo has been exploring the county in search of eight iconic trees. From Bude to Helston, the trees were chosen for their age, beauty and local significance.

Accompanying the paintings will be a short film by local video artist Samuel Bestwick, who broadens the exhibit by mobilising each tree through video and sound.
